WHO WE ARE

We are from Cagliari in Sardinia and moved to the UK in 2015, having run a successful vegan restaurant for many years in our hometown. Davide worked as a sous chef and head chef in various restaurants before we decided to open Ancient Grains in Meads. We pride ourselves on creating delicious, wholesome dishes, many drawn from family recipes, that showcase the best of Sardinian cuisine.

OUR MISSION

At Ancient Grains we offer you a unique experience where you can savour traditional Sardinian dishes created with passion and using only the freshest ingredients. For lunch and dinner you can explore our delicious Sardinian homemade fresh pasta, or our platters with Sardinian cured meat and sardinian pecorino cheese.


All our dishes are prepared using fresh, natural ingredients. We use spelt flour for our pasta and cakes, and also make our own gluten-free pasta. Our lunch menu changes seasonally. For dinner advance booking is advised, and guests can pre-order from the menu provided. A limited à la carte menu is also available for walk-ins.Once a month we offer a special Sardinian tasting menu on Thursday evening . To find out more, contact us.
